If you compress your images in the beginning, you won’t have to go back and do it later. You’ll end up saving a lot of time by compressing your images when you make them.

Do you use widgets? This is a common error a lot of people make when they make their first WordPress blog. Many webhosting plans really aren’t cut out for so many calls to the database. When you add a lot of widgets to your website, you stress an already overworked server and slowdown is the result. If you remove some of the widgets and plugins that you don’t really need, you will be making good headway with website optimization.

JavaScript is another thing you will want to watch out for. If it isn’t well written or there is too much reliance on it, you can suffer slowdowns. One thing to remember when you use JavaScript on your website, not all of the modern browsers run it very fast. This can give the illusion that your website is running slow. One way to test if your site is running slowly because of the scripts is to remove them and see if there is an improvement.

I’ve been with multiple companies over the time, and I have to say all of them except for my current host had noticeable downtimes. If you are running a business, frequent service interruptions, no matter if you notice them yourself or not, are a big problem. This turns out to be 10 searchers for every 1 website. If you were to actually find a topic with his low of competition you would be very lucky indeed.

As I have already mentioned, this is very important because part of a website’s relevance comes from how well the content on the page matches the domain name. If your website creation and domain name are completely unrelated, you will have to work much harder for your place in the search engines.

While this is not an impossible feat, it does raise the difficulty level quite a bit. And especially in this early state of learning website creation you have more important things to focus on.

Now before we go any further, you’re not ready to start making your website just yet. We need to see how many searches are performed each month for “mittens”. Remember, look for the exact number of searches performed rather than the broad match to ensure your data is accurate.

In our example here we find that exactly 200 people look for our keyword each month. That means that there are two searchers for every website out there.

Great, now we know that if we were to make a website on this topic, we would have a really good chance to rank when a user performs a search.

As you can see, this can really make an impact on how well your website can perform.

If you’ve spent any amount of time online, there is a good chance you’ve given this some thought. But how do you make a website? What do you need to know, and what do you need to get before you make a website? Don’t worry, because that is what I intend to cover in this beginner’s article.

Though in all fairness, a lot of the really exceptional themes and plugins are free.
